Pike Place Market

Pike Place Market is a must see attraction when in Seattle! The market is a bustling scene of vendors, tourists, and flying fish. There are two signs above the market. Look for the main sign (pictured above). This entrance leads you directly to the main entrance of the market where you will see people crowding around the famous fish stall. If you’re lucky enough someone in the crowd will buy a fish and you will catch the famous show which is basically a whole bunch of people tossing slippery fish around a small space. It’s more fascinating than it sounds! But watch out for splatter or you will be smelling like the ocean all day! Throughout the market there are numerous vendors selling flowers, fresh fruit and vegetables, gigantic fresh seafood, local honey, and more. My favorite store was ticket in the corner of the market. A little Tibetan shop where I picked up a large tapestry for $12.

Below the market is also the famous Gum Wall! It makes for a great photo op (I had to silence my inner germaphobe for this photo). If you don’t have gum, just walk down a little further down the alley and you will see a random gum-ball machine to the right of the alleyway.

Space Needle

The Space Needle is one of the most distinguishable landmarks in Seattle. Newly remodeled, at ~$40/adult ticket, there is an outdoor glass observation deck and a rotating indoor glass floor giving you views of the city from 520 feet! Yes, I said 520 feet!!

At the top of the Space Needle, there is a rotating glass platform. You can walk outside and take photos against the beautiful skyline. There are also automated photo machines there that will take group photos for you so no group member is left out!

Fremont Troll

Last but not least…the Fremont Troll is a must see sight! Take a stroll up N 36th Ave and you will run into this amazingly massive sculpture. Hint: you can climb on its left hands with a bit of flexibility.
